Cookie Policy

Mackip.me believes in all Internet users' rights to privacy. All information collected by Mackip.me is not personally identifiable as it relates to users.

This page contains information on what cookies are, the cookies used by the Mackip.me website, how to switch cookies off in your browser, how to specifically switch off advertising cookies, and some suggested reading on the subject.

What are cookies?

Your browser stores small text files on your computer or mobile phone - these are cookies. They allow websites to remember your preferences, whether you’ve logged into a website, and more. You can think of cookies as a recollection the website has, so that it can remember you when you come back and respond appropriately.

How does the Mackip.me website use cookies?

Our Websites and Service use cookies and other similar technologies (collectively in this Policy, "cookies"), in order to provide a better service to you and to generally improve our Website and Service.

The types of cookies we use are:

Site performance cookies:

Site performance cookies are necessary to help our Website and Service to work as intended. You may disable any of these functional cookies as described below; but if you do, various functions of the Website or Service may be unavailable to you or may not work as intended.

The "__cfduid" cookie is set by the CloudFlare service to identify trusted web traffic. It does not correspond to any user id in the web application, nor does the cookie store any personally identifiable information.

Anonymous Google Analytics cookies:

Every time someone visits our website, software provided by Google generates an “anonymous analytics cookie”. These cookies can tell Google whether or not you have visited the site before.

Your browser will tell Google if you have these cookies and, if you don’t, Google generates new ones. This allows Google to track how many individual users we have, and how often they visit the site. This type of cookie persists only for the duration of the session.

We cannot use the information generated from these cookies to identify individuals. We use them to gather statistics, for example, the number of visits to a page.

Advertising cookies

We use AdSense and AdMob, which are run through Doubleclick, Google’s advertising platform. DoubleClick analyzes browsing activity across our website to establish user profiles. Doubleclick then determines which ads to serve according to the user profile.

There are two cookies Doubleclick places on our websites. The first is used for re-targeting, optimization, reporting and attribution of online adverts; this cookie remains only for the duration of the session.

The second registers and reports the website user's actions after viewing or clicking one of the advertiser's ads with the purpose of measuring the efficacy of an ad and to present targeted ads to the user; this cookie remains for one year.

Learn more about how AdSense uses cookies here (https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/7549925?hl=en) and to opt out, visit Google’s ad settings (https://adssettings.google.com).

In addition to Doubleclick’s cookies, other advertising providers who work with Doubleclick may place cookies on our websites. These cookies are used to determine re-targeting, optimization, reporting, and efficacy of ads, reporting data back to the advertising provider anonymously.

Third-party cookies

Third Party Services may use cookies to help you sign into their services from our Services. Any such third party cookie usage is governed by the policy of the third party placing the cookie.

How do I turn cookies off?

It is usually possible to stop your browser accepting cookies, or to stop it accepting cookies from a particular website.

All modern browsers allow you to change your cookie settings. You can usually find these settings in the Options or Preferences menu of your browser, or you can use the Help option in your browser for more details.
